2ppm for an indefinite pond.

*NOTE: It is crucial to accurately estimate the volume of water that is to be treated.

Application:

KMnO4 is available in crystal or powder form. It should be mixed with water before applied, and then dispersed the solution evenly over the entire pond surface to ensure an effective treatment.

*NOTE: half dose of KMnO4 shall be applied initially for fish’s parasite & disease treatment. The fish’s condition shall be monitor closely. Additional treatment only be carried out if the condition allowed.  These ways method enable handler to observe fish response towards the chemical.

CAUTION: Aeration shall be increased after chemical application to add significant amounts of dissolved oxygen (DO).

PRECAUTION:

Wear Protective gear including rubber gloves, goggles, mask, and old clothes.

KMnO4 can burn skin, eyes, and other body parts. It will stain you and everything it touches brown. It also causes irritation to your respiratory tract.

Estimate water volume accurately and disperse the chemical evenly over the entire pond.

KMnO4 is highly reactive chemical, incorrect dosage and excessive amounts of chemical will harm the fish and pond conditions. Proper dispersion can prevent occurrence of hot spots.

Avoid frequent treatment for fish’s parasite and disease treatment.

Frequent treatment will harm fish. Repeating treatment shall be carried out  at least 4 days from previous treatment. If fish do not respond to treatment, re-evaluate them to confirm the diagnosis.
