Calcium and Magnesium Test Kit (Aqua CalMag)

Bifunctional test kit that able to detect Calcium and Magnesium concentration contains in water. The test kit contains 5 reagents and REAGENT 5 refill. The tests can be conducted regularly for monitoring essential water parameters for shrimp cultivation. The tests can be conducted prior shrimp cultivation for ensuring both Calcium and Magnesium concentration at optimum level.

  • REAGENT 1, 2, & 5 serves as calcium concentration detection.
  • REAGENT 3, 4, & 5 serves as magnesium concentration detection.

Function

Description

Bifunctional test kit that able to detect Calcium and Magnesium concentration contains in water. The test kit contains 5 reagents and REAGENT 5 refill. The tests can be conducted regularly for monitoring essential water parameters for shrimp cultivation. The tests can be conducted prior shrimp cultivation for ensuring both Calcium and Magnesium concentration at optimum level.

  • REAGENT 1, 2, & 5 serves as calcium concentration detection.
  • REAGENT 3, 4, & 5 serves as magnesium concentration detection.

Procedure (Calcium concentration detection)

  1. Rinse the measuring vessel with water test sample and fill the water sample up to 5ml
  2. Add 4 drops of REAGENT 1 and mix
  3. Add 1 spoon of REAGENT 2 and mix. (The water sample will turn PINK)
  4. Add REAGENT 5 drops by drop and mix well after each drop until watercolor changes from pink to blue. count the number of drop and label as A.

Calcium concentration:

  • From Table of calcium, read the value corresponding to A.
  • Formula calculation (Calcium(ppm)=A X 20)

Procedure (Magnesium concentration detection)

  1. Rinse the measuring vessel with water test sample and fill the water sample up to 5 ml mark.
  2. Add 2 drops of REAGENT 3 and mix.
  3. Add 1 drops of REAGENT 4 and mix. (the water sample will turn purple)
  4. Add REAGENT 5 drop by drop and mix well after every drop until watercolor changes from purple to blue. Count the number of drops and label as B.

Magnesium concentration:

  • From Table of magnesium, read the value corresponding to A and B.
  • Formula calculation (magnesium (ppm)=(2B-A) X 12.15)
